We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacque’ Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacque’, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I started my brands (Heal Yeahh and Seven Figure Soul) to help others while healing and helping myself. Self-care matters and being happy is underrated. Heal Yeahh started as Tea Store. Once I began to understand the importance of self-love and peace, and the crucial role it played in my life’s opulence, I transitioned from a tea-only store to a happiness-based retail shop that offers all things good for your mind, body, and soul. Giving back is important so I created Seven Figure Soul nonprofit with the hopes to help women find their inner wings: Supporting & Up-leveling through mentorship, networking events, meetups, and courses. My idea to build a brand stemmed solely from wanting freedom, endless opportunities, and a career where office politics would not affect my mental health. Both brands were created with a desire to be happy, have a great work-life balance, and be surrounded by like-minded people whom I’m able to grow with, heal, or even learn from.
The single most important decision I’ve made that has contributed to my success has been betting all on myself. Once I stop worrying about statistics, trends, and what others around me were doing, my authentic soul started to shine even brighter. Some may feel that entrepreneurship is scary, but the fact is… entrepreneurship is no scarier than wondering if you’re going to get fired or laid off at your current job- daily or so simple as walking outside.
Success has taught me to treat my “failures” as lessons and to stay true to myself no matter my surrounding. After all, the hardest part is getting started.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is my ability to double down. When a vision comes to mind, a goal is then set, and shortly my plan will be executed. If this means disappearing from the world and sacrificing all fun, trips, social media, I will never have a problem with deciding IF I want to do it. I’m where I am today because I’m always curious and always learning: a student of life. As long as I experience challenges, I’m growing so, I’ve learned to deal with all problems and challenges by focusing my energy on finding solutions.
Along the way, I’ve learned that I may not always start the race with those of my choosing, and I may not always finish the race with those I’ve had in mind… and that’s okay. Outgrowing my old self and others is a part of the game.
I am determined to accomplish what I need to make it easier for those behind me. Sometimes, a little support is all you need.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot in the city of Galveston is the historic strand district. I would rent the vintage-themed golf carts from Carriage Haus Rentals on Broadway, spend a few hours appreciating the architect of the amazing Victorian homes built pre-1900s on the east of the island. Pass by Heal Yeahh on the strand to get some thirst-quenching bottled tea drinks and smile at the happy staff we have working there, then go to La King’s chocolate factory for the old-fashioned milkshakes that make my jaws hurt.
Since by this time it’ll be time to return the carts, we’ll finish the night off by eating some of the best Mexican food (Brewchachos on the strand) because my friends love to dance. There they can laugh as loud as they’d like, take pictures, and enjoy the vibe-ish lights they have there.
The rest of the week we would check out Moody Gardens, Segway tours, and a few seafood places. We have to have seafood.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can say that Julien, Ms. Phyllis, my grandmother, Ainsley, and of course my soul sister and Author of Sis you are the Universe- Phylicia has been the backbone of my journey. From words of deep-rooted love and encouragement, to support, all the way down to the advice and the hardcore truth… they have been there. I can’t imagine a team without them, and I would never want to find out what it would look like.
