We had the good fortune of connecting with Ari Lové and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ari, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The most important decision, hmm that would most definitely be when i had to make the decision to put myself and my dreams first. Not caring how selfish it may have seemed. I had to do this for myself.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well honestly getting into this, I had no footing, I just knew I could write well and could sing. So when i decided to release my first single, the hardest part was actually understanding the business of it. All the many legalities that are involved for you to be creative was insane to me. Then there was my actually trying to discover my sound and who I am. Which is when I discovered my brand, I make music for women( and men) to feel sexy. No matter what walk of life, I want you to feel like a baddie when you listen to me.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oooh, this is a tough one. Well I know for me I loveeee shopping so the Galleria would definitely be on my list. Fun wise, I’m a big kid, I love Top Golf, bowling, and skating at The People’s Rink. Now food wise, I would definitely take them to Lost and Found, and for something lowkey some staples are The Red Wagon and Frenchys.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely want to give a shout out to my team, who are now like family. And who are responsible for who you see and hear. Starting with my ace Cashaveli! He pushed me into actually going forward with my writing and music. Then I want to give credit to my engineers Tez Lamont and Chef Dillo, then my videographer Director 9k. Then my glam squad Jasmine and Meme. And lastly to my children for constantly reminding me why I have to push forward.
