We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Wong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacqueline, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Being in a hustle and bustle environment. Learning about other perspectives and being on the constant run learning about what’s out there. Being comfortable but not too comfortable. Being able to pursue my interests while having the surrounding of great friends keeps me going despite whatever tries to bring me down.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others is that I believe that being comfortable with my content is not necessarily a good thing. I want to be constantly improving and being open to other ideas. I think shooting photography and trying to find a style to mold myself into would only stunt my growth. I also like to draw inspiration from other mediums rather than photography. As someone who is also pursuing graphic design, I love problem solving. I want the world to see photography in my perspective.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whenever I want to show friends around, I definitely have to take them to my favorite spots. I love hitting up Jollibees, Flip N’ Patties, anywhere in Bellaire, probably some Korean BBQ place. Definitely always have to take my friends to Tea Top though!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The biggest drive to create my little hobby into a passion was the support from all the friends around me. After that, what strives me to improve and try new perspectives are all the passionate creators I look up to and also my colleagues that constantly push themselves to work hard.
