We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaiden Reid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaiden, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Revenge Visuals came to life in 2020 during a global pandemic that ended the world as we knew it. I was a senior at Florida State University with plans to accept a full-time role in digital marketing after graduation. When the lockdown first began I was excited for what I thought would just be an extra couple of days for spring break vacation.
After the first month of chaos and confusion, it became obvious this unprecedented situation was not going to disappear any time soon. With everyone scrambling to adjust to a new socially distant reality, most companies searched for ways to lower costs and stopped hiring. I was forced to take a step back and reevaluate what I wanted from life.
I founded Revenge Visuals by following my passion for making creative content and social media. Seeing how quickly the world adapted to a virtual environment fanned the flames of my vision.
The essence of my brand is rooted in using previous setbacks as the fuel needed to reach new heights in life. “Success is The Best Revenge.”
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At Revenge Visuals we focus on providing our customers the best overall value in digital media production. All of our work begins with a vision and each project gets its own unique treatment. Customers can choose to build their own media package from a wide array of options and add-on services. The creative process invites collaboration and is handled in house by a small team of experts. We are always looking for ways to put out fresh ideas and start new trends.
Starting my own business at age 22 during a global pandemic presented me with seemingly endless challenges. Ironically if someone were to ask me “Was it easy?” my honest would be “Yes.” I believe the true difficulty of accomplishing a task can only be gauged after its completion. The horrific events of 2020 caused me to develop a mental habit of super sizing any challenges i’m faced with. In hindsight this actually helped me because now I tend to over prepare and find success easier than expected.
The most critical lesson I’ve learned on my journey so far is the value of knowing your-self! We are living in an era of socially distant social media. People are now free to share their ideas and opinions while engaging the entire world at the tap of a screen. A person understanding the origin of their thoughts can help them navigate through life without getting lost in the internet sauce.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely show them around Downtown Houston and take them to some of my favorite food spots. I enjoy trying new small restaurants that aren’t popular yet. Then we could spend a day at The Galleria for some retail therapy. Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton are definitely where it’s at. I would also take the opportunity to check out some of the natural beauty found in Houston’s parks. The last stop would probably be experiencing the vibrant nightlife in the city.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people that supported my vision for Revenge in its earliest stages. Without the help of my family our brand definitely wouldn’t be where it is today. I also want to shoutout everyone who trusted us to provide photography and content creation services during our first year.
