We had the good fortune of connecting with JAMAINE MORRIS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JAMAINE, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As an artist we’re unfairly compensated for our talents. My experience as an entrepreneur showed me as the owner not only are we fairly compensated but we also have the freedom to operate at our own pace without any middle men making bad decisions that’ll effect my career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Im a seasoned musician/rapper with a lot of respect and accolades in the music industry. I started off in the battle rap world then begun writing songs to record. After my 1st project The Introduction was released I became a local phenom but my business wasn’t in tact as it should’ve been so I promised myself my next project will be launched under my own imprint Olympus Muzik Group. Since launching my own label with my business partner Hermes Pozo my career started to rise fast. We signed our 1st act Jodee Bleu who recently released her debut project Shades of Bleu thats generating a lot of buzz. Our brand is GODLY. Here at Olympus Muzik Group we’re all gods and goddesses similar to Greek mythology.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Im definitely taking them out to eat at The Turkey Leg Hut that place is legendary. Then we can go to Prospect Park for drinks and music i love that place. Afterwards we have V-Live, daiquiri shop where the music and dancing is official,

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest inspiration is Master P and Sean” Diddy” Combs. Master P taught me how to be successful independently and Diddy taught me the actual blueprint of becoming a successful Record Label Exec. Im also a huge fan of the TV show Shark Tank. I learned how to negotiate deals, business lingo, and the art of smart investing.
