Meet Jarrett Michael | Hip-Hop/R&B Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarrett Michael and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jarrett, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by life. There are no wins and loses in life, just lessons. Lessons build character. My life experiences inspire me to create the art that I have today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since dropping his debut “Heaven Bouquet” in 2011, Jarrett Adams, aka Jarrett Michael, has made a name for himself as one of hip-hop’s fastest rising raconteurs. Michael has shared the stage with several notable acts, including Mickey Factz, Swave Sevah, Angel Cintron, Benny The Butcher, Big Krit, Hopsin, The Lox, Jarren Benton, Paul Wall, Kid Daytona, Stevie Stone, and Bando Jonez. Developing strong relationships with promoters, DJs, A&Rs, and program coordinators throughout the states, Michael has created a strong buzz throughout the Midwest, Texas, and his home state of Indiana.
Jarrett Michael, known for his heartfelt performances, lyricism, and the ability to tell a story through music, is determined to make his dream come true. Jarrett Michael’s talent and work ethic have caught the attention of several of his peers within hip-hop.

Jarrett has toured multiple times with 2009 XXL Freshman Mickey Factz, whom he considers a mentor. Of his protégé, Factz stated, “Relentless talent that bleeds through the sound-bed. The hunger Jarrett exhibits not to be successful but to share his truths is unparalleled. Humbled to help this young man on his journey to preserve this art-form to the place it should be for generations to come.” For Jarrett, there is no Plan B. His Plan B is to make his Plan A work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve only been to Houston a few times but I love Kamp Houston. I love the atmosphere and the environment.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my manager Matt “Hilly” Hill, my team (Ashley Lattimore, Darrius Record and Martel Henley), my mentor Mickey Factz, my family and my city. Without all of them I wouldn’t be the artist and person I am today.
