We had the good fortune of connecting with Nashey Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nashey, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been a creative person. I remember at a young age spending a lot of time writing music and designing album covers for various singing groups that I would put together back in middle school. I had more fun thinking of designs for the airbrushed shirts(ancient trend) than singing in front of people, hence why my music career did not take off. The same fate happened throughout my corporate career. I would be in a fundamental position, then end up spearheading internal marketing communication initiatives. I would get so much fulfillment from the creative assignments that I began freelancing and ultimately starting my own company, Perriellei.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Perriellei, I work with service-focused organizations and professionals by building their brand and growing their business with top-tier content marketing. This is a boutique agency, offering website design, brand strategy and market research, along with various components of digital design. The vision is to cultivate immersive storytelling with content marketing, that will elevate and engage the customer experience through mixed reality (MR).

The Content Marketing industry is still new and changing everyday. It took some time to really carve out what the vision was for my company because social media can be so noisy. However, with much research and soul searching, I was able to properly position my brand online thanks to a webinar called, Focus Your Hustle with Gini Trask. I am a big advocate for investing in business coaching! There are still areas that I am looking to grow in, but I strive to always be teachable and adaptable to the market.

When people interact with me or my brand, I hope that the vibe is giving polished and professional!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Houston! As a Dallas native, those three words can get you some evil looks. Nonetheless, there is nothing like a good Sunday Funday in Houston. Ideally this consist of going to brunch at Caracol on Post Oak, followed by good vibes and maybe at Secret Garden Downtown and then finish out the night at Urban Social near the Greenway area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big thank you would go to my Mother, she has always supported me and offered her strong faith, encouragement and tough love! My amazing group of friends that check on me when I get too quiet. I’m so grateful for the organizations, Children 4 Tomorrow and Minds Matter Houston, that have allowed me to put a voice and a vision to their mission and esteem the youth. My wonderful clients that trust me with their business, my vendors and partners for being loyal. Lastly, my brother for always looking out for me and keeping me young and hip!
