We had the good fortune of connecting with Jas Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jas, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
I just read Atomic Habits, recommended to me by a girl on a plane, & I loved it! It helped me change my perspective on creating good/healthy habits by starting small & being consistent. It introduced something called “habit stacking” , a concept where you add a new habit to an existing habit— game changer.
What should our readers know about your business?
Vibes with Jas Yoga is just that, yoga with a whole vibe. My classes are fun, upbeat, intentional, & interactive. In the beginning I had no clue where I wanted to go with it, & I still don’t! As a new business owner, I’m figuring it out. I know the importance of being active & moving your body & I love bringing people together for a good time. I get most excited working with athletes, & fitness trainers that underestimate the practice. I also love working with new yogis who are discovering their strength.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Favorite places? Ok so— I’m a nerd, we have to hit the Space Museum during the day, after that, catch happy hour at Ador. On a Saturday morning, definitely have to get a work out in at Defy Pilates, then juiceland for açaí bowls. Walk around the museum district, & visit the fine arts museum before grabbing vegan brunch at Mo Better Brews. Later that evening, a nice dinner at Guard & Grace before heading out to 5015 for the turn up. Sunday morning, black swan for a hot yoga class & Rest before Sunday Funday at Chapman & Kirby.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My girl Nia- thank you for planting the seed to become a yoga instructor in the first place. & of course my TRIBE! Those that love me, support me, attend classes, recommend friends, & share my posts.
