We had the good fortune of connecting with David Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, how do you think about risk?
Well you’ve heard it over and over, the greater the risk the greater the reward. I believe that to be true 100%, when you start a business there is usually a great amount of risk involved but entrepreneurs don’t necessarily view it as risk, it usually just viewed as what’s necessary to move forward. Risk can lead to failures as well but failure is inevitable if you are truly trying to grow and see your vision through. Risk and failure should be an embraced part of the “sport”. The other side of this is that great success comes from your wins and the risk is all worth it!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
William David Homes is a custom home building business in the greater Houston area. About 50% of our business is in master planned communities while the other half is build on your lot. We pride ourselves on lasting relationships with our clients, and vendors, with a focus of doing the right thing for both. We put our clients experience at the highest importance and pay our vendors on time while maintaining a fair pricing structure. Having a successful business is never easy and I could talk for days about the challenges in our industry as well as the day to day. Surrounding yourself with a team that works hard and aims to put people over the process will always allow you to grow and shine in your specific industry.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been many people who have been mentors to me in some way or another. My friends and family have been a huge support as I have pursued building our business. I tend to gather inspiration from conversations with people who have built bigger businesses, podcast, and reading leadership or general business books.
