We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Consistency has kept me very successful. Being consistent not only in my professional career but in my personal life has contributed greatly to who I am today. Keeping a routine in being healthy and in productivity improves so many aspects of life. When you give yourself the time to focus and tend to the things that enhance your skills daily, you will see positive results.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Doing extensive research definitely sets me apart from other artists. The documentaries that I’ve made tell a unique story from a perspective very few are able to accomplish. I am most proud of my relationships with the individuals who I’ve had the honor of working with in film. Researching topics such as Texas barbecue and historic neighborhoods in Houston can be difficult when it comes to discussing evolution, but finding information and the right people to share their story gives audiences a much better glimpse into the subject.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was coming to Houston, I would definitely take them to the Heights area to experience food. From Asian to Mexican food the Heights neighborhood offers a real culinary experience, For nightlife, nothing beats downtown Houston, especially Dean’s downtown on Main street. My favorite place to grab a drink, dance and see the city will always be Deans. The staff there is always kind and knows how to make tasty drinks!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout 1 Soundvibe Studios in Houston Texas. This studio is one of the best places to be surrounded by professionals who work hard to create quality entertainment. Also the owner, Lafayette Taylor has been integral in helping me execute my visual projects.
