We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason (KNOTZ) Broussard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason (KNOTZ), what do you attribute your success to?
When making the decision to start any journey, you have to think about what you want to get out of it. It’s very easy for people to dive into a career path without really thinking out the long term wants and goals. With that said, I think the most important factor behind my success has been my drive and determination to reach my goals, while staying true to my own vision.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always been involved in the entertainment industry for the majority of my life. I started teaching myself various computer and film skills in middle school, which was just extended upon in my high school career. The arts are a big part of my life, as they are fundamentally the basis of human expression. Continuing to learn new things, take constructive criticism and not being afraid to ask for help, are all important things I’ve learned. While my KNOTZ persona may seem like a fun dance music artist from a glance, the brand is meant to emphasis the love of multiple genres, enjoying your life, and coming together through our love of music. I tend to create music in various genres because I don’t think artist should be limited to just one thing. Just as I would want my fans and general people to know that they can be different and achieve whatever they truly want to.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man I LOVE to eat food. Houston is home to some very culturally diverse food establishments all around town. If I had to pick a few favorites, I would have to recommend “The Halal Guys”, “Nobi Public House”, “T-bone Tom’s”, and “The Turkey Leg Hut”. That should be enough delicious food to get you through!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think it’s important for people to believe in themselves and give themselves the credit they deserve. You have to really believe and see yourself achieving the goals you want and living the best life you see. In high school we read a book called “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. The general concept covers the law of attraction which sums up to the idea of creating things for yourself in life. She mentions the quote of “ask, believe, and receive.” Ask for the things we want, believe we can get them, and eventually we can manifest those things for ourselves.
