We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Hammock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The Dream ChaseHer Conference empowers women with impactful information provided by industry experts to help grow their businesses. From business formation, CEO mindset lessons, marketing, and building better systems, it’s all available for women to access. Our organization also provides a space for emerging entrepreneurs to network with women who are on the same journey. At our conference meaningful relationships are formed along with profitable partnerships that take their business and themselves to a new level. The community of women who attend and are connected to our digital footprint gain access business grants that provide important financial support that is the difference between them closing their doors and remaining open. Our aim is to help close the wealth gap, by supporting women in creating businesses that provide financial stability to their lives.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Dream ChaseHer is a multifaceted company where our core belief is to help women realize their dreams. I mainly offer public speaking and training services that provide not only inspiration, but practical strategies to transform how you think and how you live. What distinguishes Dream ChaseHer is our approach that is anchored in Christian faith principles that embody hope, wisdom, faith, and abundance. Becoming a public speaker was the last thing on my “What do you want to be when you grow up” list. Especially since I talked with a lisp when I was younger and barely passed my college oral communication class with a C. And to get that C I had to redo a presentation. I felt like I had nothing to say of value and people wouldn’t want to hear what I had to say. Along the way I’ve learned that your confidence grows with repetition. The more you do a thing, the better you become at it. You have to say “NO” to the voice of fear that tries to make you think small and questions your ability and worth. A common affirmation I recite is, “I can do hard things well.” I want people to know that the dreams you have in your heart are possible. Don’t get frustrated with how long it takes to manifest, just continue to be committed to evolving into the person you need to become in order for that dream to realize. The sooner you say “Yes” to your destiny, the sooner you can live out your dream.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am fortunate to live in the San Francisco Bay Area which is rich in culture, entertainment, recreation, and food! So this tasks is quite easy. But here isa list of things we would do:

Have lunch at STK in San Francisco
Cheer for the Warriors at a home game
Ride the ferry to Oakland
Shop black female owned businesses such as Love Iguehi, Taylor Jay
Have coffee at Red Bay
Hike at Tilden Park
Run the Bay Area trail
Day trip to Napa and go wine tasting to Brown Winery, V. Sattui, Alpha Omega Winery
Have lunch at Restoration Hardware
See a show at Yoshi’s in Oakland
Go shopping in Walnut Creek then have cupcakes from Cupcakin’
Go to a Sunday morning worship service at New Life Community Church
Go to brunch at Shakewell
Walk Lake Merritt

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be here today without the love and favor of Jesus. He has opened so many doors for me and I’m beyond grateful. My husband, Darnell’s unyielding support and encouragement to pursue every dream that God puts on my heart is invaluable. Then I have to give a big shout out to my accountability partner, Shauna Harper who is always lighting a fire under me and giving no pause to any excuse I come up with. The author who elevated my thinking about money and business is Rachel Rodgers, who penned the book, “We All ShouldBe Millionaires.”It’s a must read for every woman.
