We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlynn Racquel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlynn, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I believe balance is the most important set up for success. If you don’t have that balance, it reflects in your work. I actually shut my business down in October 2021, to re-evaluate my structure of my company and find that perfect balance for my brand. I relaunched February 2022, and have had an amazing turn out with less stress. I used to work myself to death, literally tiring myself out, now I have implemented structures that allow me to work smarter, and not harder and allows me to have more time for creativity, but also time to relax and be away from work!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ashlynn Racquel Media helps define marketing and social media strategies by identifying the most appropriate messaging and branding. Teaching business owners how to execute these strategies to scale their business through social media for both personal and financial growth. While also providing timeless material to align with brand messaging. I believe in giving every business owner a luxury experience and giving them the confidence to run their business on their own. I pride myself on making sure all clients are satisfied and understand the importance of marketing and branding within their brand! I believe I got to where I am today with true trial and error. I attempted many businesses in the past, but nothing was a passion for me until I realized I could provide timeless services and be creative at the same time!
The biggest lesson and advice I would give the world and even anyone reading my personal story is that “Rome was not built in a day”. Perfecting your craft, or even perfecting your vision is ok if it takes time. The only competition you should have is amongst yourself. I always wanted to be a better me within my creative work and even within myself. I took classes, watched any tutorial possible to perfect my craft. YOU GOT THIS!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is such an amazing question! My itinerary would be LONG. Some of my favorite spots in Houston are:
Brunch: State Fare, The Rouxpour
Lunch: Turkey Leg Hut , Houston Grub Park
Dinner: Steak48 , Joey Uptown
Bars: Grooves, Diablo Loco
So many amazing places!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
WOW! So many people to thank! I want to start by thanking God, for allowing these blessings to fall into my life. Next, I want to thank my Family! They have always supported any and everything that I do and allowed me to move freely in my purpose (Mom – thank you for always trusting my thoughts and dreams and pushing me to higher limits). Lastly, I want to thank my High School teacher Amy Lee, College professor Professor Hopkins and my Mentor Lauren Michelle ! Mrs.Lee, is the reason I chose to pursue Business/Marketing and because of her, I found my passion early on before college. Professor Hopkins was sweet, but always pushed me to do more, explore more, and learn more! With that, because of him I realized Marketing was my favorite subject and that was what I shifted my degree towards! Lauren, taught me the marketing ropes early, and allowed me a spot in her company to advance my graphic design skills. Thank you amazing people for molding me!
