We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Nickerson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I began my Jewelry Journey 15 unbelievable years ago. I have always loved Jewelry. Initially it was all gold & diamonds for me. I would only admire the beautiful art forms of Costume Jewelry on other ladies. One day, I decided to try it for myself & I received so many compliments. At this point, Diva Designs By Jennifer was born. I started participating in any vendor show I could find. After doing over 600 events, I now offer several jewelry services that include Gift Concierge, Bridal & Prom Services, Jewelry For Photo Shoots, Luxurious Inspired Jewelry & Wardrobe/Jewelry Critique. My speciality is Fashion Shows & Large Women Conferences. We just opened a new mini boutique within Painted Tree Boutiques.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I began a banking career 39 years ago in high school. Never did I ever think my office education class was setting me up a banking career. Corporate Banking in my professional career as well as a Jewelry Stylist. I also have another Celebration Sign business – Jazzy Yard Bling.  I take great pride & excel at all of my business adventures. It has become a great balance in my life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to travel & take short trips. My favorites are Cruises & Las Vegas Rendezvous’s. Favorite eating spots in Houston is the Breakfast Klub & Steak 48 as well as a longtime favorite – Olive Garden. I also enjoy the Downtown Night Life. There is always something going on @ Discovery Green as well as many Hotspots within the Houston area.
