We had the good fortune of connecting with Jermaine Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jermaine, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process is to always make sure that my career and business I put out into the world is something that I’m truly 100% behind. If its a event I’m dj’in or a piece of clothing I’m selling I make sure I’m true to the product.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When people hear the word “Dj” they think “the man/women that pushes the buttons and play music” but I always wanted to use my platform to do so much more. Dj’in for 10 years I accomplished so much in my career doing what I love but what gets me excited is the work I do for the community and others. I recently started a free music program for inner city youth to allow them to explore their love for music. When we think of me “Dj425” and my brand 425Ent I want to them to know that yes I am one of the best Dj’s in Houston but I’m work hard every day to use my platform for something good.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week long trip will consist of music, brunch, and of course something a little edgy. One of my go to spots for happy hour will have to be at “On the Rocks. Brunch will be at the “Address” or “Gracies”. Will have to take them for live music at “Cafe 4212” or the “House of Blues”

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
At a young age my parents, siblings, and grandmother was my biggest supporters. They believed I could achieve anything. However, where I am now and my career and the reason I work so hard the credit has to go my wife. She’s my business partner and my motivation daily!
