Meet Jerry Morka | Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerry Morka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerry, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I don’t think about it. Life is full of risk. If you not risking it all for things you believe in then you’re wasting your time. I took a lot of risk to get to where I am today and I’m not done yet!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I’m a young director, I’m most proud of the progress I made in the short years I’ve been in this industry. I’m proud of the mentors that helped me get to where I am today & I’m proud of my work ethic, I’m proud of my willingness to be great, I’m proud of a lot. I got to where I am today but just doing it. Something that started as a hobby I took that and made it my career and I haven’t looked back since. It wasn’t easy at all, it takes hard work and dedication. Life’s not easy, shit is hard, but what you going to do? Cry about it or go get what you want out of it. I overcame the challenges by never giving up, keep believing in my self, working on my craft and networking. Number one lesson I learned is never give up on yourself. I almost gave up on myself at some point, got a regular job because I couldn’t get a client to work with but then I soon realize that for me to be successful I have to be all in, 100% effort, so I quit my job in 2018 and I haven’t worked a 9-5 since then. I want the world to know that I’m coming. I’m coming for everything I deserve and more. They shall know my name soon.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Favorite place in the city is probably my room. I spend all my time there learning and working but if I was to go out I’d say Andretti in katy Texas. It’s fun and a way to get away from work and hang with friends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are a lot of people that deserves a shoutout, it’d be unfair to name a few and not all because I’m grateful for everyone that played a part into where I am today.
