We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Arceneaux and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
For me I think success needs to be defined. What does success really mean to YOU? I think for me defining success and having goals based on that definition is what has led to me being successful. I am not a person who let the things around me define my success but rather what I have defined. From there it is a matter of following through and taking the steps that need to be taken to make those goals happen. And realizing when something gets in my way, that is not an excuse to quit if I really believe in what I want, that is an opportunity to re-evaluate my steps and alter the plan if necessary.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the Group Fitness Manager at World Gym in Texas City. The gym started off at 50,000 sq. ft. but in 2021 we moved to a new location that is now 100,000 sq. ft. As the a Group Fitness Manager I have been honored to manage a great group of instructors as well as run fitness classes of my own with many of our great members joining in. I started in the fitness industry in later 2006 as Personal Trainer. This was something I did off and on over the course about ten year before I went in to teaching Group Fitness Classes. I fell in love with it because I fell in love with the people and I fell in love with the ability to help so many more people work on meeting their health and fitness goals. But of course we know the fitness industry is flooded with so many options that you will see people constantly come and go. For me, despite the heavily saturated market, I told myself I would not change who I am to meet the next fad but that I would stay true to my personality and what I know to work and I think people came to appreciate it. I want people to know this is not just about putting food on my table. This is about helping those who I see as my friends, my family, be as healthy as they can. To truly love themselves. And to know that whatever phase they are in, they are worth taking time to care for themselves and I want to be there to help them. It is my passion. We only get this one body and this one mind and we have to protect to have the best quality of life we can.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a kid at heart! I’d definitely take the to World Gym to knock out a workout with me. It’s a huge playground so I would not leave that out. We would have lunch at Baybrook Mall, likely Rouxpour. From there I would probably go play some games at Dave and Busters. But beyond that eating and game places are always at the top of my list . I’m done need anything too fancy. I just need fun and food and if we are best friends… they do too!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
1st and foremost my husband who has supported me every step of the way. My kids who have been patient with me. My sister who has always believed I was special. My mom who is no longer with us but has always had my back. And my gym Family, Friends, co-workers, and owner who allow me to do what I love.
