Hi Jessica, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I first started pursuing music for therapy as an only outlet but growing out of behaviors the strive for the success of my music turned into my music being my voice and I hope to reach others to tell my story and help others relate and express to my words inspiring them and reminding my listeners they are not alone

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Jessica Garcia (Kj) also known as Ms.RestrictedKj I’m a 19 year old upcoming female artist from the 805 born and raised in Oxnard California my passion for music started back in 2018 writing poetry and Raps While being sent back-and-forth from behavioral facilities to juvenile detention centers. Growing up and out of my Ways from that time of my life I
would have never expected the Music route to be the lifestyle I wanted . Having a difficult time speaking to people about my trauma I slowly learned music was my voice
As of recently it brought me to dropping my first single in 2022

Since My first drop I have been pushing my music career out n up off the ground from my home Town Oxnard Hoping to Reach and touch the lives of other people everywhere through my music. What sets me aside from most artist or music in this industry is the story I tell and the words I speak when I do I’m lyrical but I have a reason & story behind every song and word. Most Obstacles have come from my past and or emotional trauma but in the music world it would be dealing with people who don’t take your work into consideration or seriously especially as a female MC. The industry is filled with close jealousy and hate. I’ve learned to set aside the difference when it comes to personal and business. As of lately I’ve booked 10+ shows and have a Texas tour Coming in November Im on all platforms and Have gained a significant amount at support within these past months of starting my music career

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the beach in Hueneme Oxnard and cook I don’t like going out much unless it’s a set date event That goes for eating out aswell

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to recognize and shout out all of the producers, Engineers, & studios that help me put my tracks together Also some of the local Artist & other people that have been following and supporting my music journey
