We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsay Seymour and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsay, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One of the most important factors behind my success and the success of my brand is consistency and authenticity. I have remained consistent and persistent throughout my personal fitness journey to myself and my goals, as well as, staying consistent to helping others accomplish their goals as well. This consistency has allowed me to be transparent and authentic in my journey as I have been open with the ups and downs of my fitness journey and have been welcoming to embrace the struggles of my clients as well to support them overcoming their obstacles on their journey to weight loss success and their healthy lifestyle journey. 

What should our readers know about your business?
SlayThick Fitness is a weight loss consulting firm and meal prep company geared to help those who desire to embark on a healthy lifestyle and lose weight and need support in getting started and staying motivated. The uniqueness in SlayThick Fitness is that we provide support based on the individual needs and strengths of each person, additionally, we have experience in the ups and downs of weight loss and a healthy lifestyle journey, and can provide support based on experience, knowledge, and expertise. Getting to where we are today businesswise was not easy, as we’ve faced a variety of obstacles and adversity including COVID. From the beginning of our establishment of SlayThick Fitness we’ve overcome obstacles including negative gossip, struggles in navigating the world of business and entrepreneurship, personal setbacks with career focuses, and fitness goals, as well as, COVID being an unexpected and unprecedented challenge many emerging businesses faced. Overcoming these challenges has led to the persistence and growth of SlayThick Fitness as a business and as a brand. We ignored all negative gossip and never let it stop us from pushing forward. These challenges have also been used as motivation to persevere and become better. We have learned the importance of transparency, authenticity, and consistency and not only become better in business but better personally to better be able to help others! We want others to know the journey to living a healthy lifestyle and attempting to lose weight is not easy for many who have struggled with these goals for years, however with the right support and accountability system such as, SlayThick Fitness, all of your goals are much more attainable!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston has so many dope places to see, eat, and explore! For anyone visiting the area on a week long trip I would encourage them to visit Breakfast Klub for breakfast or lunch and if they are feeling up to it, check out Turkey Leg Hut for lunch or dinner (the wait may be long but the food is worth it!). I highly recommend any visitors to go visit the Museum of Natural Science especially the butterfly exhibit. For a night time activity some fun places are Truckyard, Axel Rad, and Prospect Park! Herman and Memorial parks are great places to get outdoors and see some of the beauty Houston has to offer, as well as Discovery Green where there is always something fun going on! For some historical monuments, NASA Space Center or The Buffalo Soldiers Museum. And of course, if anyone is visiting during the February and March months, the Houston Livestock and Rodeo show is a must see!

There are several people and groups I would dedicate a shoutout to, which include RC Fitness where I initially began my fitness journey and had great success with weight loss during their 21-Day program. I also have to shoutout Houston Fitness Guru where I began to thrive and excel in my journey and push myself to new limits! My personal coach, Forever Wellthy by Sha is always motivating me and pushing me to be my best, and my current gym home Mean Green Training is a great and positive environment that is very supportive and encouraging of my goals.
