We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Cabreja and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jose, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting a business was intended to provide long term for my family. It was never intended to replace my 9-5. I simply enjoy serving others & helping those around me succeed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My business is what I do in my free time and all of the success I’ve had comes from late nights and early mornings. I work full time as an Accountant here in Houston so the majority of my time is spent either in the office or with my family after work. Honestly the success I’ve had comes from time management. I have a very detailed schedule in order to get the most out of my days. Ever since I was in college I would go from working full time, to night school, to the gym. That schedule basically transitioned from work, to my family, to my business, while still being able to log multiple hours in the gym. It definitely wasn’t easy and there are still a lot of nights where I only 5-6 hours of sleep, but it’s been worth it.

I’ve overcome challenges primarily with my faith. I trust God has a plan for my life and I’m just applying what I know, which is to work hard and be a good example for my kids.

I want people to know JEGG Financial, LLC represents Faith, Family, & Finances. We’re all about working hard, helping others, and doing things the right way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we had friends come to the city we’d probably go to the museum or somewhere kid friendly. Places like the zoo, museums, parks, along with movie theatres are what we like to do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a big shout out to my wife, Ericka. She’s been with me since before the business even started and she’s always motivated me to be a better person. We’ve been able to establish a mantra in our household being the “House of Gains”. We both are very invested in our careers yet we’ve still been able to make time for my business, our kids, extra curricular activities, & even compete in the sport of CrossFit.
