Hi Joy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk, I believe is how you choose to perceive it. Life in itself is a risk, in order to grow in life you have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable because each levels of life comes with its own challenge. Someone else would look at 2020 overall and say its a bad year because maybe they lost something or someone, but another individual like myself could choose to perceive it as a year of personal growth because quarantine forced us all to consider the risks of being out of a job or losing a job. Risks taking has played a major role in my life and modeling career. Through taking risks i broke free of limiting beliefs i placed on myself for a long time. Through that same risk taking i’ve been able to achieve so much in my career as a model during this pivotal time in world history. 

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am Joylola, I love everything creative, its always been me. I am currently a freelance Model. What sets me apart from all others is that I live life freely without letting others beliefs and opinions of me determine how i move. I travel to different sates to network with other aspiring Models. I am so proud of traveling all over after graduating undergrad with my Bachelors of science in Business Administration/management. I made a promise to myself and since then i’ve kept pushing to live the life i’ve always dreamed of. Getting to where I currently am wasn’t easy, there were lots of sleepless nights, lonely cries, and purging of growing pains, but I got here by not giving up. I got to this point through believing in the power of miracles, It was as easy as letting go and letting God. All the challenge that arouse gave me the motivation to keep my focus. I was threatened to get kicked out of my family home, I lost friends and gained some, I heard lots of No’s however those No’s led to more Yes’s. The lessons i’ve learned is to never compromise your beliefs for anyone and to NEVER lower your standards for those who don’t see nor know your value. I want the world to know that everything is attainable. Keep working towards it and believe I miracles will happen in divine timing. I still have a long way to go, it makes it more exciting to know my journey is just beginning.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I find this question to be so perfect because I am currently on a trip in Los Angeles with my best friends. When it comes to food we would try everything we come across that looks interesting because i believe in expanding ones tastebuds. We all love the thrill of trying different flavors. We love tea so for the most part we would be drinking lots of tea and water. When it comes to hanging out, we would tour around the city and visit the friends we know are in town. The most interesting places and things to check out in LA are the different things that inspire us and spark my attention. I do not limit myself to just the things I’ve seen and experience. I am adventurous and I love to expand my horizons and consciousness by experiencing knew cultures, places, and people and I believe some of the best times to expand ones horizons is when you are doing so with loved ones so you are also creating beautiful and miraculous memories. I have a love for music, fashion, culture, and nature so I would more so be gravitated towards situations and places that involve those things. For example, going to the park to have a picnic to sit in and enjoy nature while I enjoy the company of loved ones and a beautiful meal. Not only this but also, go out to the club to be able to indulge in the beauty of night life. People coming together to let go of the stress of the week and just relax, let go, and lose themselves in the music. Alternatively, I also love a nice classy day out for brunch with my girls where we can get dressed and treat ourselves. Enjoy a fantastic meal prepared by someone else and sip on mimosas as we discuss whats going on in our lives and where we are planning on going, To be able to sit down and have a conversation with people you truly cherish and talk over your dreams and aspirations and the goals and steps you have put in place to achieve all these dreams. In conclusion, if my friends came to visit my area the itinerary would be filled of activities that would help get us more in tune with our most inner desires, we would go around to places that inspire each of us to continue working on our dreams, as well as, relaxation and rejuvenation time needed to be able to keep going.

Firstly, I am so grateful to God because without his help and guidance there is no way I would have been able to get this far, My family for pushing me to be uncomfortable so I can grow, My friends for their continuous love and support, Shoutout HTX for this opportunity and Lastly, I would like to give a special shoutout to Mr Bello for his help in making this interview even possible.
