We had the good fortune of connecting with Joyce Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joyce, how do you think about risk?

Taking risks is necessary! Risks taking is an opportunity to find out what you are made of. There’s an old saying, no risk no reward!

I have taken many risks like relocating on two occasion to pursue a career change. Once to Northern California another time to Miami. I made the decision and moved within 30 days. My move from Texas to California was to redefine my career path. I didn’t have a job when I left but knew I would be ok.

I landed in telecommunications and received a promotion to come back to Texas (home) where my career continued to thrive in the industry,

What should our readers know about your business?

I spent over 25 years selling on behalf of the largest brands in the World to the largest brands in the World. I am sharing my knowledge, experiences and sales successes with others. As a result, I launched Why Sales Network to married my love for the sales profession, mentor-ship and coaching to help empower our next generation of sales leaders by creating training programs to help them navigate in the B2B (business to business) space.

The Why Sales Network brand includes; Training, Podcasts, Webinars, Mastermind groups, and other sales programs. In response to the threat of COVID-19, we moved to a virtual platform to offer engaging, inspiring and transformational learning programs for sales professionals.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well the best place would be my house because I love to entertainment. I live downtown and also frequent the River Oaks. I prefer restaurants and lounges with live music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my Mother, Commissioner Patricia Toliver, she continues to inspire and encourage me.

Just last week, we were talking. I wasn’t getting the results I wanted from the week but didn’t say anything about it.

Before hanging up, my Mom said, “I believe in you, Joyce”. It’s those moments throughout my life that pushes me through!
