We had the good fortune of connecting with Julissa Ovalle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julissa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was driven by a blend of passion and a desire to fill a unique niche in the market. As a social media manager and immigration consultant, I recognized the power of digital platforms in transforming how we access and disseminate vital information, especially in areas as critical as immigration.
My journey in starting my own business is deeply rooted in my personal history as a child of immigrants. Witnessing firsthand the challenges and obstacles my parents faced, I developed a profound understanding of the complexities and emotional toll of the immigration process. This experience ignited a passion in me to make a difference in this field.
As a product of immigrants, I’ve experienced the struggles and sacrifices involved in adapting to a new country. These experiences shaped my perspective and fueled my desire to ensure that children of immigrants, and immigrants themselves, have a smoother, more supported journey than what my family and I endured.
With this goal in mind, I combined my expertise as a social media manager with my knowledge of immigration consulting to create a unique business. My aim is to demystify the immigration process, making it more accessible and less intimidating for families like mine. Through my work, I strive to provide clear, compassionate guidance and support, leveraging social media to reach and educate a broader audience.
Starting my own business was not just a professional choice but a personal mission. It’s about creating a platform that not only offers expert advice but also empathizes with the emotional journey of immigration. I believe that by providing a blend of reliable information and a supportive community, we can significantly ease the challenges faced by immigrant families and their children.
In essence, my business is more than a service; it’s a commitment to ensuring that the path for future generations of immigrants is paved with understanding, support, and accessible resources. It’s about changing the narrative and experience of immigration, one family at a time
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is more than just a professional endeavor; it’s a manifestation of my passion for helping others and a commitment to genuinely making a difference in their lives. What sets me apart, I believe, is this deep-rooted desire to impact lives positively. It’s not just about providing a service; it’s about creating meaningful change.
I am most proud of the number of lives I’ve been able to touch through my work. Each individual I assist brings a unique story and set of challenges, and being able to guide and support them is incredibly fulfilling. Looking ahead, I’m excited about the prospect of continuing to expand this impact, reaching more people and making a significant difference in their journeys.
The progress I’ve made in my business can be attributed to a combination of my integrity and my passion for the field. These qualities have been the bedrock of my daily operations and long-term vision. It’s a daily commitment to work hard, stay true to my values, and relentlessly pursue my goals.
Of course, the journey hasn’t been easy. Being a business owner comes with its set of challenges – from managing the uncertainties of entrepreneurship to navigating the complexities of the ever-evolving digital and immigration landscapes. However, I’ve learned that perseverance and adaptability are key. Each challenge has been an opportunity to learn, grow, and refine my approach.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the value of resilience. The path of entrepreneurship is unpredictable, but maintaining a resilient mindset helps in navigating through tough times. Another lesson is the importance of staying connected to the ‘why’ of my business – the core reason I started this journey. This connection keeps me grounded and focused, especially in the face of obstacles.
I want the world to know that my brand is a reflection of a personal mission to empower and support. It’s about building a community where individuals feel seen, heard, and guided. My story is one of turning passion into purpose, and I hope it inspires others to pursue their dreams with courage and conviction
