We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Myers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
It was the only thing that didn’t bore me to tears , I literally worked in a lot of careers before realizing hair was the one thing that made me happy. I quit a lot of different jobs because eventually it just got monotonous or I could t go higher and the thing about this business there’s always something new or more to achieve or get better at!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I graduated from Paul Mitchell school and started working at really posh salons and learned a lot about myself and hair and also about what I didn’t want from myself as a stylist. After a long time in the industry , I decided to invest in myself and decided to open my own space so I could control my clients experiences and be my own boss , currently I have plans to open a salon in river oaks and it will open in 2027! My journey was full of so many adventures and I wouldn’t trade places with anyone ,I love hair and all that’s involved in it ! Oh and I have a really weird thing where I can copy any picture of hair , just by sight and cut it and style it exactly like the picture ,been that way since I was 17 😎

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take them to rice box for lunch and then go to Post Houston for dinner or maybe go to PKL social for some pickleball, def take them to my salon for a blow out or cut, we def have to check out a flick at river oaks theatre and eat at Leo’s. Coffee at waygood or lalaland for sure

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this to my father and mother who have always taught me to dream , even if they didn’t understand.
