We had the good fortune of connecting with Kara DiCarlo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kara, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew for a while that I was ready to be my own boss, but I didn’t really know what that would look like. I started an entertainment management company first and was thinking this was the direction I was supposed to go in, but God had other plans. I always had a passion for real estate and actually had my license 13 years ago. So it was always on the radar and with my mom being in the business, I knew I’d eventually get back into it. Then Covid came and hit my recruiting career significantly. I did some soul searching during that time and had a conversation with my mom and she suggested that now might be a great time to re-enter real estate. And that just felt right!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I believe what sets me apart in real estate is my communication and engagement throughout the process. Plus, I absolutely LOVE what I do, and that enthusiasm goes a long way when working with clients. Buying and selling a home can sometimes be a stressful process but I try to make it fun and as smooth as possible!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Bridgeland so we definitely would take a walk around some of the lakes. It’s such a beautiful neighborhood and so peaceful. We would also go have coffee at L3 in the front of the neighborhood at some point. Great coffee and a great vibe! Dinner at my new favorite restaurant in the Heights, Squable. Then ice cream at Jeni’s Ice Cream…so delicious!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom! She began her real estate career 15 years ago and I have always wanted to work with her. She’s been incredibly successful and I’ve really admired her and the business she has built. So when she suggested I join her team last year, I was so excited to take this leap!
