We had the good fortune of connecting with Kate Khmel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kate, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’m very a creative and independent person with a set of different talents. I could really integrate all of my needs and skills by starting my own company. I can be unhappy just for so long, be it relationships or career. I’ll always be looking for ways to feel happy and balanced in life.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our agency is 4 years old. In business you have to be flexible, make adjustments and learn as you go, even if you have previous experience. Our ideal clients who I want to work with are those ambitious people who intend to be happy in every aspect of their life – their own well-being, career and family. We don’t match profiles. We match real people with their specific needs, dreams and goals. At the beginning of the journey, they may not be aware of all that themself. So, they may often rediscover themselves, heal past wounds and learn how to build a healthy relationship. Some people say, we prevent future divorces before a new relationship even starts. I like the idea of this.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I personally like nature and outdoors. I also like being close to water. So, if I was a guide I’d take them to South Padre island to spend time on the beach. I also like local lakes and national parks near Austin, TX. I really liked Palo Duro Canyon on the north side of the state. Texas is so big, and there’re a lot of great places to see. We like eating at country restaurants in small towns when we take a road trip. Houston does have a variety of cuisines. I’d have a hard time picking a favorite.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The personality, particularly my innate curiosity, love for learning, courage and willingness to help, of course has been the number one driving force. I’ve met a lot of great people, read books, taken courses, attended events, etc. There’re too many to list.
