We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Tschida and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katie, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Texas on a small farm, where I was immersed in a rich environment of animals, including horses, cows, chickens, dogs, and cats. My family also bred and raised Jack Russell Terriers, and we actively participated in dog trials, including confirmation, go-to-ground, and racing. My involvement extended to youth handler events, where I demonstrated my knowledge of Jack Russell Terriers and their history.
After graduating from high school, I joined the military, where I honed my leadership skills and learned the importance of strategic planning. These experiences—growing up on the farm, participating in dog trials, and undergoing military training—have collectively shaped my ability to support my family and apply effective leadership strategies in various aspects of my life.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, KRT Virtual Assistant, focuses on providing digital organization strategies for marketing agencies and specialists. What sets me apart is my commitment to transforming chaotic digital spaces into streamlined, efficient systems that allow my clients to focus on what they do best. My VIP Days are a prime example of this, where I dive deep into a client’s unique needs and deliver personalized, intensive digital organization.
Getting to where I am today in business has been anything but easy. The road has been filled with challenges, starting with the struggle to identify my strengths and the type of clients I truly enjoy supporting. Balancing homeschooling my three children while running a business added another layer of complexity. I had to learn to juggle responsibilities, master the art of saying no, and resist the temptation to chase every shiny new tool or strategy that promised to enhance my business.
Through these experiences, I’ve learned invaluable lessons. One of the most important is the power of focus—knowing what truly matters and dedicating my energy to those areas. I’ve also learned the importance of adaptability, especially in an ever-evolving digital landscape. My journey has taught me resilience, strategic thinking, and the value of a strong support system.
What I want the world to know about KRT Virtual Assistant is that I’m not just about organization—I’m about transformation. I’m here to help businesses optimize their operations, reduce overwhelm, and unlock their full potential. My story is one of perseverance, learning, and growth, and I’m excited to continue this journey, helping others achieve their own version of success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d plan an itinerary that highlights some of the best local hotspots in the area. We’d kick things off with a night at Rogel’s BBQ, where we’d indulge in some of the best Texas barbecue around—perfect for setting the tone for a great week ahead. Another evening would be spent at Watson’s House of Ales, where we’d enjoy a laid-back atmosphere, great drinks, and maybe even catch some live music.
Depending on the season, we’d definitely head to a Houston Astros game. There’s nothing like the energy of a live game at Minute Maid Park, especially if you’re a baseball fan. For a bit of daytime fun, we’d visit the Houston Interactive Aquarium, where we could get up close with marine life, or take a trip to the Houston Zoo to explore their extensive collection of animals from around the world.
Throughout the week, we’d mix in some more local favorites—perhaps a stroll through the Museum District to soak up some art and culture, and a visit to the Heights for its unique shops and eateries. Each day would be a new adventure, packed with the best food, drinks, and activities that Houston has to offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Many people have influenced and supported me along the way, but if I had to dedicate this to one person, it would be my husband. His unwavering support and encouragement have been instrumental in my journey, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.
