We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I ever had to make in my life, was walking away from a marriage that I held very dear to my heart I loved and also cherished. However, if it wasn’t for that difficult decision, I wouldn’t be the woman that I am today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets K&L Decorating apart from others would be the Love and Dedication that we show to our clients. We pride ourselves in giving each client an experience they’ll remember! Every client has a unique story where their home will be a reflection of them. With that being said we like to take the time to get to know our clients to be able to reflect that in our projects.

K&L Decorating was able to get here today Business wise by learning from mistakes That was made even though this has not been an easy road. From losing my mom, going through a disheartening divorce, and becoming a single mom of three young children. By the grace of God it has given K&L Decorating a whole new meaning! I love to show my clients through life toughest battles it’s still possible to see the light at the end of the tunnel. When I first moved on my own with my three small children after a divorce, my Home was a reflection of my strength and it became my safe Haven. Just like me, I’m sure my clients have experienced either similar situations Or something that caused a shift in their perspective. When you think of home, you think of peace and that’s Why we pride ourselves and getting to know our clients so that we can reflect their story every time they walk in their home.

The biggest lesson that K&L has learned is life must go on! It is possible to come back from anything! And I would love for the world to know that I am a woman of love and each client will be like family!
As the CEO of K&L I pride myself and great customer service and communication with my clients Every story is important and unique to us!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from Houston my whole life I would love to take my friends to nice restaurants with great food, music, and drinks. I love, upscale restaurants, such as Mastros.
My view of fun is a place with good vibes! Where you can unwind and spend some much needed girl time over dinner and drinks!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my strong, beautiful friend. Her name is Jasmine Noah. She is a entrepreneur and real estate and also a teacher
