We had the good fortune of connecting with Raven BlIr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raven, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I’ve learned & still learning to set boundaries. I get lost sometimes in work & put it first. I started to see I was missing out on life. I changed my schedule to include two off days & some weekdays I close early. This has allowed me to spend time with my family & not burn myself out so fast!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It was not easy getting to this point. Like many, I’ve had setbacks, unhappy customers, a lot of things that happened that people aren’t aware of. At the end of the day, I analyze the situation & come up solutions on how I could’ve handled it better.
I feel my personality & experience sets me apart. I come from over a decade of customer service experience. I treat my clients with top tier service. I treat them the way I want to be treated when I receive a service. I think of things they may like. It’s always the tiny details that make the difference!
What I am most proud of is my growth, passion & dedication to this business. I love what I do & it shines brightly throughout! I’ve been in the lash industry almost 5 years! 3 shops & multiple services later. Bigger & better is an understatement for Me!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you were spending a week with me, you will NOT go hungry! Lol. We’ll have lunch at Lost & Found on a Monday, their food is amazing & who can deny $5 Happy Hour? I love bike riding downtown or midtown when the weather & my schedule permits. I love to go to The Rouxpour (omg that red fish is to die for!) Definitely would have to visit the museum district. Go shopping at Memorial City Mall & The Galleria. It’s always nice to visit Hermann Park & finish the week at a hometown favorite.. Pappadeaux!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First & foremost my children, Elijah & Phoenix are my motivation to keep going on my hardest days. My Clients, I call them my ‘Angels’ because they saved my life. Without them there’s no Slashed! My friends & family are my backbone their support never goes unnoticed!
