We had the good fortune of connecting with Keisha Garner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always had the desire to be an entrepreneur at a young age but never had the drive to make it happen until I had my daughter. My daughter is my motivation for starting my businesses! I want to leave a legacy and build wealth for my family. I knew that starting a business will not be easy but it can be done. I had to learn to change my mindset and circle of friends that share the same goals.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m so excited that I started Vivid Pleasures because it’s more than just adult products we bring an experience. Vivid Pleasures LLC mission is to specialize in changing dating and relationships for adult men and women with improving mental, physical and financial health through education, innovations, and empower entrepreneurship.

I’m so glad I decided to take a leap of faith in starting this business, there is so much judgment in this world and I think that comes from a lack of knowledge or education. I want to bring awareness of the need for self-love, being confident in who you are, and accepting who you are. We all are uniquely made!

It’s not easy being a business owner I have run into problems but the one thing I invested in myself was getting a coach/mentor to give me guidance on what to do, not to do, and what to avoid. I encourage anyone looking to venture to be an entrepreneur to get a mentor that has the same goals. This investment is worth it!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in Houston are Dave and Busters, I’m a big kid at heart, you can play games, drink, eat, bowl all under one roof. I would eat at Cheesecake Factory, Del Frisco’s, and Steak 48 for the weekend. During the week we would go to the Premier Outlet mall and Hank’s for seafood. I definitely would have us hang out at a lounge to listen to some music and socialize. If any live concerts are happening I would go to House of Blues or a comedy show at the Houston Improv Comedy Club. Houston always has festivals in the city so attending the strawberry festival, margarita festival, and zydeco festival.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank God first and foremost, nothing is possible without him. Many thanks go out to BOSSCHICS of Houston for the support these women have shown me. DeAnna Green, my coach, and mentor made this opportunity happen for me and the amount of guidance and resources she has placed before me. My close family and friends for giving me that space to share my good and bad times, positive feedback, and the ugly truth even when I don’t want to hear it. I have to also give a shoutout to my hometown Baton Rouge, LA where I was born and raised. If you don’t know where you come from, then you don’t know where you are going. To my beautiful daughter who is my WHY and my strength to keep me going no matter what obstacle comes my way. Last but definitely not least, my parents, there’s so much I can say about them but to sum it up they have a huge impact on my life. They taught me a great work ethic, never to give up, treat people with kindness, and help others. I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them.
