Hi Kendra, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Relatability. I think Noisy Knits has success because women are drawn to our Tees, which are about self confidence, body positivity and empowerment. Women see themselves reflected in our Tees and relate to the messages we present.Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Starting Noisy Knits wasn’t easy. There was an idea, but no clear idea of how to move forward. So my business partner and I just jumped in! Mistakes were made along the way, but as a business, we are better because of the mistakes we made in the beginning. The biggest lesson learned – don’t let fear of failure keep you from moving forward. Our Tees are about empowerment and self confidence and I can say that simply owning Noisy Knits has increased my self confidence and empowered me to believe that I am worthy of success.The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was once told, never be the smartest person in the room and if you are, invite smarter people or find a different room. To that end, I’m always looking for women who are more successful, from whom I can glean a little bit of knowledge that I can apply to my own business. To that end, I would say black female business owners, in general. I am constantly learning from them. I participate in several groups and the knowledge and wisdom provided is unbelievable. I learn from their mistakes and successes.
