Hi Kerri-Ann, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a business, can be a life changing decision. As I thought of owning my business I was reminded of thoughts as a child wanting to make a difference by helping others to see. As an adult the challenges can seem bigger than the dream. I made a decision to focus on the dream, of helping the community to see and enlighten eyes. Enlightening Eyes is the power of education and providing exceptional first class service while getting an eye exam and providing fashionable eyewear and eye health tips. I wanted to leave a legacy that lived beyond now and continues to give sight to eyes and purpose to life. My business is the gift that is created to service the eye care world in a unique way that is free to be.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

At De’Cordova Eyewear you will find eye care experts that are disciplined in treating the eyes. Our services include full comprehensive eye exams for all ages. Our doctors and specialty experts have a wide range of experience from medical services as a registered nurse to specific optometric vision care.

We are set apart from the crowd by our optical lounge that has a library of books, including our own ” A girl with a BIG vision”, along with a cafe to enjoy while waiting. We also have an eye spa experience to relax and educate about healthy eye care. Our team takes there time to find out what is best for each individual and provide individualized care.

Overcoming challenges begins with the vision you have for your self and your practice. An internal eye that sees it although it is not present as yet and continue to work towards the vision.

During Challenging times I have learnt to focus on the end, instead of the now. Many challenges come but reminding my self these challenges did not come to stay by it will pass. A strong faith in God to keep going despite the issues and to gain strength, and support when needed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow. If my best friend came in town. LOL I would probably do more self care. I would grab something to eat at what ever types of food they wish to eat. I would schedule messages, pedi and facials. I would then go to church on Sunday followed by brunch and go for a nice walk in the neighborhood to enjoy the cool night breeze. Boring enough?? Yes that is what I would do with my BFF.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
