We had the good fortune of connecting with Keyonna Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keyonna, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal for Elevated Beauty Brands is the beginning for so much more. By the end of my personal career I will have established multiple state accredited learning institutions placed all over, for other entrepreneurs specializing in the beauty industry. These institutions will not only focus on the background knowledge of the beauty field but will also tap into business training, customer service etiquette, marketing and advertising and so much more! I will have literally created a way for millions of people to be impacted positively whether it be through knowledge, acts of service, or providing quality products that help beauty influencers do their job more effectively. The end goal for Elevated Beauty Brands is to be a staple in the Beauty Industry by simply uplifting in any and every way possible!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Lash artist, instructor, and wholesale lash supplier. What sets Elevated Beauty Brands apart from others is all in the name. We use our platform to elevate everyone around who has been touched by our brand. We elevate through service through education, and by uplifting every chance we get. What I am most proud of is the overall growth and elevation of Elevated Beauty Brands, expanding from being home based to now having secured two locations in the Bridgeport area which houses other growing entrepreneurs is simply amazing and I am excited to see continual growth not just in Elevated Beauty Brands but for all we are attached to. Getting Elevated Beauty Brands to the level it is at today has been an emotional and trying journey, but when you have a calling and a passion with a larger vision attached to it, success is no longer a want but a responsibility. Knowing that in Elevated Beauty Brands success, doors would be open for others to succeed became my reason if you will. Keeping my eyes on the end goals and at times of feeling down and unmotivated, letting the success of others drive and motivate me is how I continue to overcome challenges. Alongside HEAVY prayer of course. The main lessons I’ve learned so far during my journey is that in order to pour into others you MUST have something to pour. Meaning that in order to make helping others a priority you have to also make YOURSELF a priority. Not the business, not the networking. but YOURSELF. Also, I’ve learned that we all have a choice, so choose wisely what it is that you care about. Life will come with turmoil and throw curve balls and some things are out of our control. The things that we are in fact in control of should be things that bring peace, happiness, and fulfillment. When the world thinks of Elevated Beauty Brands, I want them to know that we (meaning us as a people, because that’s what our company is built on) can ONLY reach our highest self through ELEVATION. Keep striving, keep thriving, and keep elevating beautifully.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Monday- (intro/chill day) Oakbrook outdoor mall for shopping of course
Tuesday- (Taco Tuesday) Drinks and Tacos @ Casa Margarita. They have multiple locations
Wednesday- (Wine Down Wednesday) No other place to relax in Chicago like AIRE! Wine Bath, Pools, Saunas, Massages the full experience SUPER RELAXING. Followed by wine tasting @ Coopers Hawk!
Thursday- A nice Chicago style soul food outing to Soule. Pretty chill night watch movies and relax
Friday- Night Out, Bowling @ one of Chicago’s many bowling alleys, Northside bar hop, and like any late night out end it at White Palace right off of Roosevelt (not far from UIC)
Saturday- HYDE PARK! Hyde Park is literally a vibe! Close to the lake front as well, so you can park and get out on foot and walk around shop clothes, food, art you name it.
Sunday- (Bruch Day) Brunch @ 80 proof located on the North side near the Lincoln Park area! Cook Sunday dinner and wind down at home! Sundays are reset days for me, so I try to get my work done early and relax.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people who have helped me on my journey whether it be business, or personal are the ones I would like to give recognition to. These people are genuine, loving, and literally all about reaching back and uplifting.
