We had the good fortune of connecting with Kira Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kira, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Besides spending time with my family working my photo booth at events makes me happy. Everytime I’ve gone out it’s been a great experience. I truly enjoy seeing everyone smiling and laughing when they walk away from the booth.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Over the last couple of years I’ve learned that connecting and collaborating with other business owners is helpful. Running a business that largely depends on events has not been easy. Things were fine then early in my second year in business covid took over. I want people to know Purple Gemini photo booth is still here and ready to help create memories at their next event.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bff was visiting I would definitely take them to Neyows on Richmond Ave. Neyows Creole cafe has delicious food, drinks, and the staff is amazing. The Breakfast Klub is another spot I love taking people to. I can never go wrong ordering catfish, grits, and potatoes but everything there is delicious. We would probably take a ride through downtown to check out various statues and graffiti park. Hopefully I would be able to book a mobile paint and sip party with Art In Party LLC.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Brandon and Naima Townsend have been great business mentors. They currently own a couple businesses like Texas Wholesale Furniture and Luxury Goods Co. Ivan Colmenares has also been great to work with. He’s the owner of DJ Ivan Ent where he provides DJ, Mc, & Lighting services.
