Meet Kishma Joseph | Wellness Proprietor and Personal Care Aesthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kishma Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kish, what inspires you?
I have always been inspired by health, skincare and anything related. My passion started in the military. I was around 18-years-old and I contoured my eyebrows with only a Tweezer because we were in basic training and spa services were not an option. Little did I know others were noticing and all the other girls wanted me to do their eyebrows. Later on, I was further inspired by my own personal progression as I researched and tried newer beauty trends on myself. That’s when I realized that this was a great love of mine and decided to go to school to obtain my license as an Aesthetician. It was my goal to provide the same services of personal care using the knowledge I have continued to amass over the years for my guests. To put it simply, I’m inspired by the smiles and the progressive results of my clientele. Their happiness and confidence really makes me feel awesome…it drives me!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Beyond Beauty Boutique comes from a warm and personal place inspired by our ongoing need to excel in all avenues of wellness and skincare. It may sound cliché, but I love my work. And what sets us apart from other beauty outlets is we don’t see ourselves as simply a business. This is a spa and wellness oasis for all our guests to rejuvenate and relax in peace beyond all of the daily stress we go through. Our services are performed in a soothing, personalized way and we are focused on making our guests not only look better, but feel better. There is also a supportive health function to what Beyond Beauty Boutique provides. Was it easy to get to this place? No, but with the support of my friends and relocating to Houston for expanded growth options, that definitely helped.

In 2020, I learned that we had to adjust quickly to challenging domestic changes over the past year by applying for grants, maintaining a constant rapport via newsletters with our current clientele and attending online spa and wellness courses to keep abreast of new developments during the pandemic. We want the world to know that we are more than just a brand that caters to looking your best. At Beyond Beauty Boutique, we get results beyond the surface!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I would definitely take them to some of the great eating spots around the Galleria area. I also particularly like this cozy eatery I recently discovered called Blakes BBQ & Burgers restaurant. We would go to some comedy performances, and the Cirque du Soleil Alegria show is currently showing as well. Most of my friends also enjoy lounges, so that is a go-to for sure. Also just relaxing around the house enjoying everyday life and catching up with friends helps me to stay grounded. And the best way to reconnect and recharge is with a glass of Pinot Grigio wine. And of course, they would have to come experience Beyond Beauty Boutique for a rejuvenating spa service before they leave Houston. You should always feel and look better than when you arrive here. That’s what a vacation or short visit should be about. Creating new experiences!

I would love to give a most heartfelt shoutout to all of my friends who have supported my personal journey along the way, as this allowed me to pursue my professional dreams and goals. They are the best support system a single mom like me could ever have. I love those guys!
