Meet Kevin Sechelski | CEO/Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Sechelski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I think the biggest thing that Anthony and Myself wanted to do is create and build something different. We wanted to visually impact our surroundings and city by building unique custom homes. We lean towards the Modern, Mid-Century, and Contemporary designs due to our personal passion for that style. We strive to always think outside the box and truly enjoy opportunities to try new things. We chose “Echo” for our name because an Echo is a duplication of sound… Here we are trying to take our clients thought and ideas and create a Visual Echo of that into a Home.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think growing up I had a passion for two very diffrent things in life that don’t seem to cross paths much. (Sports and Art) I grew up in the Cypress area and attended Cy-Fair High School. A the time we had an Art teacher named Mrs. Macy who impacted many lives including my own. She allowed us students to express ourselves in away that might not always have been accepted well by our peers. She didn’t believe in the censoring of art and always supported our views and expression. She gave us a college level experience early on, which allowed for many of us to pursue art after high school. I attended the Kansas City Art institute in my early years and later Co-Founded a local show called Neopopstreetfunk with artist Nicky Davis. Art and finding a creative outlet has brought me to a pretty amazing place in life were I get to help design unique modern homes for my clients.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Live Music – (White Oak or some local bars) Sporting Events (We have great venues)
Art Galleries and Museums
The Heights (Shopping and Food)
Maybe do a Brewery Tour (Tons in Houston Area)
Take them on a Echo Custom Homes Tour (lol)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The path to get to where I am now has had its fair share of bumps along the way. I would say learning from all my past mistakes has helped me the most when moving forward. I would have to thank my business partner and head of Construction Anthony Johnson for believing in me and my crazy ideas of building modern homes. It’s funny how in life so many learning opportunities occur that we might not even be aware of at the time. Playing sports at an early age taught me how to work hard, work as a team, not to give up and that every person as a role for the team to function correctly. My Mom for listening to all my ideas, thoughts and rants and always believing. My first business partner and early mentor Gus Pasquini for showing me the ropes at such an early age and opening my eyes to the business world. Also I can’t forget me… Even when I felt there was no hope I’ve never stopped fighting or believing in myself, even when nobody else did. I was told as a kid I could do or be anything in life and I believed them…
