We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyaris Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyaris, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
You should never give up. God did not create us to give up but we can slow down, change methods and strategies, consider new concepts, or ask for help. We usually feel overwhelmed because what we’ve envisioned for our personal journey as well as our business doesn’t happen overnight. We feel the passion and know the time that we have invested which includes the research and the birthing pains we’ve endured. It is understandable that we would want people to recognize and respect our efforts by showing support and purchasing our product. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case which, actually, is okay. As entrepreneurs we have to be fine with admitting that something is not working. Then, we can humble ourselves and make adjustments in our business or personal lives. We have to give ourselves clearance to make mistakes and try different methods and strategies. Giving up is not the answer when something does not happen as we expected. Instead, I advise others to reach out! In doing this, you are seeking wisdom and guidance that can renew a fire inside of you that will help to make your brand the best that it can be. Please continue to always keep going and growing!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I use to live in the grave. I thought my life was over and even though I wanted to die, I wanted even more for just one person to see me. I needed one person to be brave and bold enough to reach into my grave and pull me out! I lived the first half of my life in the valley and now I am free and full of Gods joy! I was given a heart of boldness! I am called to help someone who is in need of help. I am a vessel that leads the brokenhearted to the father. Brokenness isn’t a destination that we are called to. I am blessed with a platform that echoes what God has already said! My uniqueness is also rooted in the definition and Mission. Profit is a business term that defines financial gain; which most businesses are looking to achieve. KyarisB is unique because our definition of profit is “Freedom from the grave.” I have learned 3 key lessons throughout my influencing journey. 1. We are on a walk with God and the point is the journey NOT the destination. 2. Leadership is a process of a constant personal development that you must commit to everyday. 3.Leaders are always MISSION driven. I want the world to know that KyarisB is nothing without Jesus.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would Visit God Encounter Church we would worship and hang with the young adults. We would eat at restaurants/Food trucks like ” The Rice Box”, “Sunshines” “Rayjaysfeelgoodfood” “HoustonSause Co” We would go to places like “Victory Nails” “Houston Zoo” “Massage Envy” during the day. We would go to places like “Alley Cats” at night (live music)
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
