We had the good fortune of connecting with Kylel Blackmon-Bates and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kylel, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
To feel free! Its the only time i can feel heard or accepted. Its a world for me that i can control.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
it was one of the most difficult things i ever did in my life. Music is fun and easy but the Journey will not be as easy going. i went through my version of hell to get here and a lot of people don’t understand why im so passionate about certain things. To overcome these challenges I prayed to God and the love from family and friends pushed me through. Ive learned to love myself and focus on things that you can control. I want everybody to know that your dreams are achievable no matter how difficult it seems. once we learn to take responsibility for our choices only then can we experience true freedom. never give up and if anybody wants to collab and have great spirits i would love to do work!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
well hopefully its a female freind but i would instantly go out of country. ive been to different coutnries and I love difference in culture. I been wating to get to Amsterdam or DR or Dubai Jaimacan. i like to live life so whatever country has the fun im there. i really wanna buy my own island

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
