Meet Lady Kimberly Jackson | National Gospel Recording Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lady Kimberly Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lady Kimberly, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When you have built an understanding of what you carry inside of y0u even though you may have your moments of wanting to throw in the towel and let it all just go its something that’s imbedded in your soul that says you carry more in you than what people give you credit for that the world needs in order for them to become stronger and strive for greater within themselves. So giving up is not in my DNA, now I have had moments where I have said I don’t want to sing anymore I want to give this up but then I was reminded that Kim there’s a sound that you carry in your spirit that the world needs to hear and at that moment I dusted myself off and kept going.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets me apart from others is that I am extremely passionate about my craft, I take my ministry very seriously, and I don’t try to be like anyone else and I put all of my energy into every word that I sing and you feel what I am ministering about. I am most proud of my determination to not give up even when I had my moments I never gave up and I’m also proud of my strong work ethic in which I get from watching how hard my parents worked they always taught me to work hard now or easy later or work easy now and hard later. This journey to my ministry and music was not easy at all, being a single mother of a beautiful daughter, I ran into a lot of challenges. I had to deal with being judged for having a baby out of wedlock, people assumed that my dream of being a Gospel artist was dead and you know growing up in the church having a child before marriage was frowned upon. So through the last 12 years, everything was on pause and I had to focus on being a mom and working dead end jobs just to take care of her. Now, that she is of age, with much prayer and still believing God he has blessed me tremendously in 2021 to finally see everything i worked so hard for through the years become a reality and now I get to share each moment with my daughter. So the delay was not a denial. I want the world to know that I am a strong woman whose faced so many struggles but found my way in life with Gods guidance and through it all I am still standing on his promises that he has made for my life.

In June of 2021, I recorded my first Gospel record entitled Higher which was a song I wrote in a hot warehouse type of dead end job 11 years ago that was produced by Rodrick Bubba Dowling which comes out on November 15, 2021 on all digital platforms. Also, I have been in planning phases for the last 9 months of my first Single Release Debut Concert that will be on November 20, 2021 @7:00pm at Free Indeed International Church 7111 Homestead, Houston, Texas 77028. My record Higher was in the top 100’s earlier this year on the MRC BDS Gospel Internet radio stations, it also plays internationally in the UK and the Caribbean’s, In April of this year I will be singing on the Dr. Bobby Jones show on the Impact Network, I will also be apart of a stage play by Annie Johnson called Unfinished Business June 26, 2022 at the Stafford Civic Center, On June 11th will be our Summer Gospel Concert featuring myself Lady Kimberly Jackson, Jamarcus Johnson, Quinten Simon, and Marcus Jordan at The Fellowship Houston off of Almeda Genoa in Houston, Texas, and also will be working on new music this year so stay tuned.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to a good seafood spot called Twin Crabs and or Pappadeuxs, also Top Golf is very fun and exciting, theres also tons of historic museums and parks like the discovery green and or Herman Park , and my favorite place Kemah Boardwalk.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes first and foremost to God and his son Jesus who is the head over my entire life , My parents Johnny and Patricia Jackson whose raised me to become who I am today, My beautiful and very intelligent daughter Aniya Jackson who keeps me on my feet, my brothers Kedrian and Jermaine who have shown me how to remain a strong person, my aunts uncles cousins, my friends and family who cover me, Amber Graham who even considered me for this amazing moment with Shoutout HTX, to The Church of the Living God temple 88 shelby st church family and Pastor Patterson not only was I raised there but this church is where I got my start in music and the pastor and church have been extremely supportive through this journey, Evang Taylor who gave me my start at 3 years old and encouraged me to where I am today, and to my amazing Producer Rodrick Bubba Dowlings who produced my first record Higher and brought my vision to life. All of the Radio Angels who have been playing my single Higher from all over the United States.
