We had the good fortune of connecting with Lakiesha Veazie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lakiesha, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
The crafting world is not as easy as people make it out to be. I make everything by hand and it’s a very tedious process. I hand make everything that my bling boutique offers. Sometimes it can be very therapeutic. Other times it can be a very stressful career.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create custom blinged out items. Such as phone cases, vanity mirrors, keychains, and anything that is requested to be bling out! I am so proud of myself for creating an everyday life that I enjoy and making it my career. This has not been an easy task starting out. With much trial and error, I practiced my craft and began to prefect it. I have had to teach my self the business. Running my own website, creating and shipping the items. I found out throughout the years that experience is truly a teacher. Being consistent and trying to reach your goals will allow you to get as far as you can imagine. FrameByKieshBlingBoutique is on the rise, and you may see my items in a store near you one day!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take my friend to a good wine tasting. We would do some shopping of course. In the houston area we have so many choices for food so that would be something that would be done breakfast brunch and dinner.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my husband J.R. for always being supportive on my journey. He has invested in my business and allowed me to leave my office job to become a full-time crafter and follow my dreams. He helps me with my post office runs and much more behind the scenes. He’s, my rock! I also would like to thank my two little girls J’Marie and K’Marie for giving me the motivation to continue every day! They think that I can do anything!
