We had the good fortune of connecting with Lance Miles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lance, what do you attribute your success to?
If any business is to be successful there has to be a clear and defined vision. You have to know exactly where you’re wanting to go and the people around you must believe in that vision. Each individual involved has a role, and that role must be done by someone who is a good fit for that job. The most important factor in a business being successful isn’t passion, drive, motivation etc, it’s are people willing to buy what you’re selling. It’s how you deliver the package.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The success of any business hinges on those around you understanding where you wanna go. The coaches and employees we have here go above and beyond because they see the benefits of helping others. This place is family. And to some it’s the only family they have. I’m most proud of the level of respect ball of our members have for each other. I’m a world full of different opinions and views in current events, we love and respect each other. The road to get to where we are hasn’t been easy and it hasn’t always been fun but we love it. I love seeing the smile on someone’s face when they accomplish a goal or lose those last 5 pounds. I’ve learned that that you can’t please everybody and Lord knows I’ve tried. At the end of the day you have to do what’s best for the majority and hope that others understand. I want everybody that walks into our gym to leave feeling good about their efforts and happy with the level of coaching they receive here. The greatest compliment we can receive are referrals.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The little town of Spring TX is my home. It’s where I grew up and although it’s changed a bit, some of the greatest memories I have are here. If I had a friend visiting I would first have them join me in a workout of course, then we’d hit up toasted yolk for brunch. They have the best mimosas. If they wanted to do a little shopping we’d head over to old town spring and visit some of the shops my mom use to drag us to. I hated it as a kid but it’s quite enjoyable now. For lunch we’d step over to corkscrew BBQ. If you haven’t had it, look them up. If they like golf then we’d hit a few holes at one the many courses around and then follow up the evening with some margaritas at El chaparro.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my wife Stephanie, when I told you about my crazy idea of starting a business you didn’t hesitate to support. Your love and patience along with your help in growing this business has been paramount in its success. Thank you To Angel, my business partner and one of my very best friends. Thank you for seeing my vision and joining me in helping change the lives of those around us in their health and fitness journey.
