We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Fleming and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Spokane Washington. My upbringing was mainly impacted by my mom, a single mother who worked extremely hard. She went back to school at age 45 to get her nursing degree after being a medical assistant, then eventually becoming a manager. She has always balanced so many things including working out at 6:30 AM, being a mother, and having to corral people at work. Then there is my dad, who has his own plumbing business. He has always taught me the value of hard work and consistency in your business and in life in general. Having these two very different but hard-working parents has greatly behooved my current entrepreneurship mindset. I grew up an only child, besides sometimes seeing my older half brothers. I had always spent a lot of time alone, getting to know myself, cooking for myself etc… I believe that my increased time alone compared to other people has helped my current drive to succeed. I have always tried to not care what others my age think of me, and have just done me.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is online fitness coaching. I push people to Dive Deep – if you are going to do something, do it well. This is not just about lifting, or eating clean. It’s about making it your lifestyle. Knowing that we were put on this earth to be great and not mediocre means using discipline with yourself and setting large goals, then taking the smaller steps to get you where you want to be in 5 years, or 1 month are a big part of it. I mainly work with college age girls, but am willing to coach anyone. I got to where I am today by deciding to take the jump to join MBG where I was taught how to do the technical parts of coaching, and how to be a better coach. I have grown up around personal trainers and dieticians in my home town like Katie Nelson who taught me so much.
I’m most excited for getting more clients, and being able to impact more lives, through taking care of yourself to a full extent – physically, mentally, and spiritually. I want the world to know that my brand is about working hard, and going all into what you are doing. We do not half ass anything around here. If you are going to do something, do it well and DIVE DEEP.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend was visiting me in the city I would definitely want to go out for Italian food. I feel that authentic Italian is always the best way to go. I was a host student in Cagli, Italy for a bit so the food just reminds me of being close and friendly with others. Through the week I would want to check out cool gyms that I have never been to with my friend, because those are kind of like “blind dates” in our eyes. It would be super fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a shoutout to The Motivated by Greatness Bodybuilding Team (MBG). Since I have joined, the amount of constant love, support, & motivation that I have received from other people on the team and from head coach Christopher Monasmith has been unforgettable. The opportunity that this team creates and exposure to the fitness industry has helped me grow so much. The networking at the Houston meetup for summer shredding was incredible. The relationships built were undeniable. I am so thankful that God put these people in my life and that we can all push each other to succeed, in all aspects of life; bodybuilding, online coaching, lifting, mentally, and spiritually.
