We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Pitts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, do you have a budget? How do you make lifestyle and spending decisions?
As entrepreneurs, our income varies from month-to-month. Moreover, it is difficult to estimate exactly what our expenses will be each and every month — seems there is always an unanticipated large expense. We try to set a reasonable budget to ensure we’re not spending more than we make. We allocate a small budget for discretionary spending and pay first for our needs (mortgage, car payment, utilities) rather than our wants (sushi every night, golf, massages, trips to luxury hotels, a new couch).
 

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I began my career as an attorney trying to find a niche practice and a specific type of client. I don’t love public speaking and never found an area of law that truly aligned with my skills and interests. I had always considered starting a business and knew I had the drive but wasn’t sure I had the guts. I considered something in landscape design, another passion of mine, but wasn’t wild about the idea of working in the heat. As more and more people worked from home post pandemic, home organizers were in high demand. I decided to give it a go and never looked back!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to thank those that supported me from the start… my mom and dad, my husband and my best friends. I am so grateful for their mentorship and unwavering faith in me.  Funny enough, I’d also like to thank those that had their serious doubts…. those that thought this was another one of my whims or an attempt to work part-time forever.  Your doubt only fueled and motivated me, and it’s been an honor working tirelessly to prove you wrong.  Little by little, we’re achieving our goals and only up from here!
