Meet Lici Tha Diamond | Singer-Songwriter & Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lici Tha Diamond and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lici, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic/creative career because It is what I enjoy doing the most. When I am writing a song, doing a studio recording session, teaching voice, singing for an event or performing in a musical play it doesn’t feel like work. It is very life giving to work hard and see the fruit of my efforts have an immediate effect on others. To have access into the seat of people’s soul while depositing words of positivity, understanding, healing and harmony feels amazing; and to get paid for it is so rewarding.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Lici, the Diamond, I am an r&b soul singer who inspires others through positive content. I bring good vibes that soothe the soul and strengthen the spirit through musically innovative and emotionally deep performances. My music poignantly conveys the essence of love in all its facets. My current project,” Love Lessons,” has me feeling ten feet ten. This music has challenged me to rise above my comfort zone and become more vulnerable concerning my past experiences with love. I’ve gotten where am today by never taking no for an answer, defying the norm, setting disciplines for myself, staying open to learn new things and trusting the process. This industry can be a beast! It is unpredictable and can be expensive for an Independent Artist. I have to constantly remind myself that it is worth the growing pains to birth out my dreams. I enjoy what I do! It is the business part of entertainment that is a daily grind and requires tenacity to overcome. I’ve learned to stay true my authentic self, be unapologetic in sharing my truth and that the business side of entertainment is just as much important as performing. My greatest desire is to shine light on the hidden places of the heart and provide a safe place for people emote their experience with love. As I illuminate the lessons that love has taught me, hopefully it will give freedom to those who relate on their personal journey with love. I want Queens to know that regardless of where they find themselves on the rollercoaster of love, that they are enough, they are worthy of love, relationships do evolve, it is ok not to be ok sometimes and that mature love eventually conquers all .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to acknowledge my husband of 23 years for his love and support. It has been his prayers and willingness to undergird what ever I endeavor to accomplish that has added to my confidence and given me courage to focus on building a career in the arts. I also appreciate the fact that my Mother has always believed in me and driven me toward growth and development in this area of business.
