We had the good fortune of connecting with Liliana Mayberry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liliana, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a career as a hair artist because I find immense joy and fulfillment in creating and transformation looks. It’s my passion to make people feel confident and beautiful through my art. From styling, cutting to coloring hair, allows me to express my creativity, connect with clients on a personal level. Make a positive impact in their lives. Bringing out the unique beauty in each person drives me to excel in my craft every day.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I been a hairdresser for 25 years and a business owner for over 15 years . Throughout my journey, I’ve had the pleasure of working on and off with talented employees who helped me at salon. However, life threw a major curveball my way when Hurricane Harvey struck. My home was severaly flooded, and I had to live in my salon for several months.
Facing these challenges taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, adaptability, and the importance of a supportive community. As a Pravana Educator and Brand Expert over 9 years, I been able to share my knowledge and passion with others. Helping them grow in their careers.
Maintaining stability through it all has been about staying focused on my goals, being flexible in the face of adversity, and surrounding myself with supportive family and loyal clients who continually inspire me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Traditional Mexican Restaurants and the brunch Restaurants in Midtown. They must visit the Houston Rodeo during Spring to check out Carnival, concerts, livestock ,food etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout out to many people along my 25 years in the industry.
I wnat to express my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful people who have been instrumental in my journey as a hair Artist. To my incredible family, thank you for your unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in me. Adjusting to the long hours gone and missed on my sons sports games. My husband keeping it together while i was gone. He is my rock through every challenge and triumph.
To my loyal clients, your trust and faith in my work mean the world to me. You have not only made my career thrive but have also enriched my life with your stories, smiles, and friendships. Your loyalty and appreciation inspire me to keep pushing my creative boundaries and delivering my best. Thank you all for being a part of my journey and for making my career asa hair Artist such a fulfilling and rewarding experience.
