Hi Lisa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that avoiding risks leads to missing out on the excitement that life has to offer. While I’m not particularly drawn to extreme activities like skydiving or mountain climbing, my career has been all risks that have shaped my current standing. Just like many others, I also grapple with the fear of failure. I used to stick to the safe path for an extended period, patiently waiting for opportunities to come my way rather than actively pursuing them.

Over time, I’ve come to understand that calculated risks are pivotal for both my personal and professional growth. Although the fear of failure is an innate feeling, it’s crucial to realize that setbacks provide invaluable insights. Even accomplished individuals frequently encounter failures, which act as foundational stones toward their achievements. In my scenario, refraining from embracing risks would have confined me to my present position. The decision to establish this brokerage was, without a doubt, a significant risk at the time it was made. Similarly, naming it Lucky Money entailed its own set of risks concerning marketing and expansion. If I had not seized these opportunities, my current status wouldn’t have been attained. Throughout my career journey, I’ve amassed substantial knowledge, and I now perceive risks as pathways to improvement. Even when circumstances deviate from the plan, I regard failure as an opportunity to learn and progress.

What should our readers know about your business?
Much like our name, Lucky Money, our brand exudes a lively and dynamic essence. Our dedicated agents put in an earnest effort to cater to our clients, while the leadership team is unwaveringly committed to the success of each individual. What sets our brokerage apart is our collective approach—every agent, client, and consumer is bolstered by a team, not solely an individual. It’s through teamwork that we transform dreams into reality. Our diligent team is fully invested in their work and equally adept at having fun.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Houston offers an amazing cultural experience, and I love introducing my friends and family to it. One of the highlights would be exploring Houston’s vibrant Asia town, where we can savor a wide variety of Asian culinary delights. Our journey could kick off with a delicious serving of Peking Duck and a seafood feast, followed by a leisurely stroll through an Asian supermarket to discover intriguing products. To wrap up this culinary adventure, we can satisfy our sweet-tooth with ice cream or boba tea. The day promises to be a delightful combination of diverse cuisines and exploration.

After indulging in Asian flavors, we can venture to local BBQ joints for an authentic BBQ experience. If the timing aligns, we might even stumble upon a lively festival happening in the area. Houston has a plethora of activities to offer, but personally, I have a soft spot for food tours!

I’m absolutely thrilled about the Shoutout series! Expressing my gratitude for the support I’ve received from my family, friends, and even kind-hearted strangers is an incredible feeling. Their encouragement has played a significant role in shaping the person I am today. In particular, as I dedicate this Shoutout, my son Dylan takes center stage. Dylan, who will soon be graduating from High School, holds a special place in my heart.

Numerous individuals have joined me on my journey, offering the help and support I needed to reach this point. Dylan was the major driving force behind this journey and my success. His presence has been my wellspring of motivation, propelling me forward. While anyone can have aspirations and desires, the presence of motivation is what truly fuels progress. Dylan’s presence has guided me consistently towards the pathway to success and pushes me to always do better. Without my eldest son, I would have never had the drive needed to push me this far. I was driven to survive, self-educate, and climb to the status that I have today. I am so fortunate to have him in my life and blessed with all that he is. I am so proud of Dylan and the man he has become today.
