Meet Liz Pallathumadom | Children’s Book Author & Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Pallathumadom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, what principle do you value most?
The value or principle that matters most to me would be INTEGRITY!!! This is definitely something I try to teach my daughter (and one day my son) every day since she is older now. I truly believe if you want to sleep well at night, you need to have that feeling that you chose the right decisions for the day. Don’t get me wrong, when I was younger I made my fair shares of mistakes and it would keep me up all night long. It was when I started my small business, Cherished Events By Liz, I decided I wanted to do things the “right” way. This way, I could go to bed feeling good about my day. When clients gave me their feedback after their event, I took all the pride in the world to hear that they truly loved working with me. While there are so many values and principles out there, INTEGRITY is the one I try to follow each and every day!!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As I said before, with Covid-19 taking over this year and my small business (CHERISHED EVENTS BY LIZ) taking a big hit. I needed to find an outlet to stay distracted and positive all at the same time. Therefore, I decided to write my first children’s book. By no means was this is an easy process!!!! There were times I wanted to give up because I couldn’t find anyone that could help me. At the same time, I kept going because I knew I had a great story and this would be something babies especially toddlers would enjoy. I would pray about it and finally, one day, I was connected with someone who was able to help me! If there is one thing I want you to take away from all this is that you should never give up!!! If you truly believe in yourself and what it is that you want to do, you have to go for it!!! There will be plenty of doors closing at you and there may even be a time or two you truly feel like its time to give up. But it is during that time, you get up and start all over again. Doing something you love never comes easy, you need to work on it each and every day because no one else will believe in you like you believe in yourself!!!! even when no one believes in you!!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a BIG foodie so my place is anywhere that has good food!!! My top three places are Peli Peli in the galleria, Torchy’s Tacos, and Japanerio’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
With Covid-19 taking over in 2020 and my small business taking a hit, I had to find other ways to use my creativity. Being pregnant earlier this year, I tried really hard not to be sad or stress out when my events were getting canceled one by one. I decided why not take one of my stories and turn it into a children’s book! I love reading to my daughter and she always inspires me to be my best self. It was just one of those days where I was reading to her and I realized I should go for it! Therefore, my shoutout goes to my baby girl, Mia Abraham and my son, Max Abraham. These two human beings make me want to be the best person I can possibly be!!!!
