We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorena Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorena, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be love, pure, consistent, and unconditional.
That every person who sat in my chair left feeling not just more beautiful, but more seen, more heard, more known.
In my salon, it’s never just about hair.
It’s about honoring the worth in every soul, celebrating their beauty, and creating a space where love is felt, not just spoken.
Because everyone who enters my salon is already enough and I’m just here to remind them.

What should our readers know about your business?
I got to where I am in my salon business by nothing but the grace of God. Every leap I’ve taken, every challenge I’ve faced it’s been Him carrying me through.

Life will always be full of obstacles, but I’ve learned that if you never try, you’ll always wonder, What if? I never wanted to live with that question in the back of my mind. So I chose to take the risk. To fight for what I believed in. To trust that even when it was hard, there was purpose in the process.

One day, I want to tell my kids not just that I dreamed but that I did. I want them to know what it takes to build something from the ground up,
to work with your whole heart, to keep going even when it’s uncomfortable. Because that’s how you grow!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, the first place I’d take her is The Food Zone!
It’s one of my favorite spots, full of amazing food vendors, good energy, and that “big backyard” kind of vibe where everyone just feels at home.

We’d try all the delicious local flavors, walk around, laugh, people-watch, and soak in the atmosphere. What I love most is how strangers feel like friends there; everyone’s talking, connecting, and just enjoying life.
It’s the kind of experience she wouldn’t get back in Washington state.
It’s not just about the food, it’s the feeling.

And trust me… she’d never want to leave.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout goes goes to my husband,
Thank you for believing in me before I believed in myself. When I doubted my strength, you reminded me of my purpose.
When I questioned whether I could finish school, build a business, or follow this dream…You stood by me with quiet strength and unshakable faith.

You saw something in me that I couldn’t always see. You gave me the courage to begin, the support to grow, and the love to keep going. Because of you, I bloomed. And I’ll never stop thanking God for placing you in my life.

This dream we’re living; it’s ours.
And I’m so proud to be walking it out with you.
