We had the good fortune of connecting with Loveleen Saxena and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Loveleen, what principle do you value most?
I truly believe we’re the creators of our destiny. And our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. If we want to create joy, love, peace and success outside, we need to cultivate it first within. Yes, I’m totally woo. In fact, my spirituality is the foundation of my being. It’s an integral part of my artwork and business as well.

Alright, please tell us more about your work.
I am a Houston, Texas based self-taught artist. I make art & lifestyle pieces that are inspiring, colorful, bold, intention based and meant to uplift your Soul. My mission is to sprinkle more joy & beauty into this world through my products. My art is a fusion of spontaneous creativity and spirituality. My medium is pen & ink and my work is intuitive.  It’s unique not only because of the intricate lines and craftsmanship. What really resonates with my customers is the energetics of each piece.  My products are made with love and infused with great joo-joo.  When they wear my scarf, or kimono or use the tea towels, it raises their vibe and lets them tap into their child-like wonder.

How did you get to where you are today professionally?
I got here through hard work, discipline, persistence, determination and willingness to change. My corporate career helped me in becoming the person who’s logical, practical and understand the business side of things. And is willing to learn from her mistakes. My creative side helped me tap into my creativity, after a decade of working in corporate and having a successful career. Listening to my intuition, deepening my spiritual practices gave me the courage and clarity to leave my corporate career and launch my art business.

Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? 
No, it wasn’t easy. What helped me was the support of my family, my spiritual practices and having the support of my mentor and a great tribe of like-minded humans who desire to be successful and live a beautiful joyful life!

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. 
That you have to be yourself, trust your intuition and be comfortable being uncomfortable. Patience, persistence are essential. Having a tribe that cheers you on is essential. But most important is focusing on your inner world and expressing your gifts in your unique way. If you seek joy outside, cultivate it within first. If you want success outside, be ready to remove all the old stories, beliefs within you that stop you from reaching that success.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
My brand’s mission & vision is to help customers see the miracles & beauty that surrounds us every moment. To help them celebrate simple pleasures. To help them take the leap of faith by inspiring them through my own journey. And to nudge them bring more joy in their life, all while giving back to Mother Earth.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a nature lover. So I’d definitely visit Bayou Bend state park. Do a little hiking, picnic and soak in the nature.I love taking a stroll in the Heights area, visiting the local boutiques, exploring new vegan places, having a cup of tea at some cute coffee/tea place.  Few places I’d take them to are Heights Boulevard, The Path of Tea and True Food Kitchen. I’ll also explore the Arts district and local farmers market.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a shout out to my mentor & teacher Kisma Donna Orbovich and the amazing Souls of her inner circle The Ashram. And of course my husband, my parents, my brother & his family, who constantly support me to reach higher!
