We had the good fortune of connecting with Lulu Romero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lulu, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I see risk as a sacrifice, it’s scary and uncertain but if there’s a seed of faith and hope within you, incredible things become possible. Without taking risks, you might live with ‘what is’ and doubts, never truly moving forward.

One of the biggest risks l’ve taken was quitting my job for the sake of my self respect and starting my own business. As a single mom, stepping into entrepreneurship wasn’t easy, especially when society has a predetermined path painted for you. It was the riskiest decision of my life, but also the wisest and most rewarding. Taking that leap of faith has helped me grow into a better person, sister, mother, and worker. It taught me that sometimes the greatest rewards come from betting on yourself and trusting in your potential!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a wire wrapped artist who uses natural elements like gemstones, plants, and trees to create tools for grounding and intentional, beautiful jewelry. My work is deeply rooted in helping others, combining art and healing.
Getting here wasn’t easy-being self employed during economic challenges tested my resilience. But believing in my work, showing up for myself, and embracing patience and grace have kept me going. Every piece I create is made with love and intention, designed to promote healing and joy.
My journey has taught me that you are not defined by others’ opinions, but by what you believe about yourself. My small business saved me during moments of self-doubt, reminding me of my worth and purpose. I hope my art inspires others to embrace their own journeys and trust in their potential.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would bring them to mg work place on a weekend. Shop Local Market, curates markets where small business owner came out & put their products to the community. They also have 2 locations where they house over 20 local business
I say its a little bit of “Houston” def a place to visit if your in town

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I didn’t have a mentor or much support when I first started-this journey was something I built on my own. However, my siblings were there for me in the beginning, coming to the markets to show their support, and that meant everything to me. Later, I was fortunate to meet Richelle Gemini, a divine artist who promotes healing through music and poetry.
She believed in me even when I was just starting out, and her consistent support, sharing my work, and encouragement of my creations have been incredibly impactful.
